Yellowtail Coris

Yellowtail Coris can grow up to 40 cm what is approximately 15 inches. 1 specimen basically needs at least 4800cm2 of water surface which is approximately 744 square inch. This species will require to be kept in a tank that is large. (e) Medium aquariums have at least 113 Litres (30 US Gallons). Large aquariums have at least 265 Litres (70 US Gallons). Very large aquariums have at least 700 Litres (185 US Gallons).
It is difficult to keep the Yellowtail Coris fish. (e) The specific gravity (SG) should be between 1,020 and 1,025, the temperature between 23°C (73.4°F) and 26°C (78.8°F). The recommended pH level is between 8.0 and 8.3 since marine fish are used to these levels in general.
This is a good fish for a fish-only tank. You may keep other fish with it which should be smaller, however not too small, so that this Wrasse cannot eat them. Same size or bigger fish mean competition in food and space and this fish hates to be only the second fish in the tank. C. Gaemard should be kept in a large aquarium with a lot of space for swimming and in an aquarium with a sand bottom. This fish likes to sleep in the sand.
Yellowtail Coris is a carnivore, so it eats meaty food. You may feed them with feeder fish, flatworms, urchins, crabs, scallops, mollusk, sclams, shrimps, squids, tunicates and occasionally a feeders finger, if he do not take care.
