Character and suggestions regarding care
They are peaceful species, however you should not keep them in ordinary tanks due to their adult size.
European Eel can grow up to 130 cm what is approximately 51 inches. So 1 specimen requires at least 15600cm
2 of water surface which is approximately 2418 square inch. This fish should be kept in aquariums that are very large. (
e) Medium aquariums have at least 113 Litres (30 US Gallons). Large aquariums have at least 265 Litres (70 US Gallons). Very large aquariums hold at least 700 Litres (185 US Gallons).
It is not very difficult to keep the European Eel fish. (
e) This is not a tropical saltwater, freshwater; brackish fish. It needs temerature from 4 to 20°C. This fish is not good for normal house auqarium.
