This fish is known as
Picturesque Dragonet and the correct latin name is
Synchiropus picturatus. The family that this marine fish species belongs to is called the
Dragonet family. (

Character and suggestions regarding care
This Dragonet is peaceful towards it’s tankmates.
Picturesque Dragonet can grow up to 7 cm what is approximately 2 inches. So 1 specimen requires at least 840cm
2 of water surface which is approximately 130 square inch. It is recommended to raise this species in fish tanks that are medium. (
e) Medium aquariums have at least 113 Litres (30 US Gallons). Large aquariums have at least 265 Litres (70 US Gallons). Capacity of very large aquariums is at least 700 Litres (185 US Gallons).
It is difficult to keep the Picturesque Dragonet fish. (
e) The specific gravity (SG) should be between 1,020 and 1,025, the temperature between 23°C (73.4°F) and 26°C (78.8°F). The pH level should be stable, varying between 8.0 and 8.3 which is usual for marine fish.
Picturesque Dragonet likes calm aquariums without aggressive and fast swimming fish. It even doesn’t like other same sized fish.
It is difficult to keep this fish, because of it’s feeding. It is hard to secure them enough food. The best is to keep them in natural or well established aquariums with live rocks where they can find their food. Synchiropus Picturatus feed on copepods.
Be careful, because their skin mucus might be poisonous.
