It is not very difficult to keep the Striped Eel Catfish. (
e) The specific gravity (SG) should be between 1,020 and 1,025, the temperature between 23°C (73.4°F) and 26°C (78.8°F). The pH levels shouldn't be outside of 8.0 - 8.3 since most marine fish are used to the mentioned range of pH values.
This fish lives mainly in salt waters, but it can survive for not too long in fresh waters too. The tank should be large with sandy bottom. The best is to keep this fish alone in the tank as adults, younger fish need community. It has a venomous spine, so you should be careful.
P. Lineatus is a bottom feeder. It should be feed by sinking food which it will search for in the sand. The food may be frozen, fresh or flaked seafood. This is a carnivore, so the food should be meaty.
