Character and suggestions regarding care
A semi-aggressive species.
Flame Angel can grow up to 10 cm what is approximately 3 inches. 1 specimen basically needs at least 1200cm
2 of water surface which is approximately 186 square inch. This fish should be kept in aquariums that are medium. (
e) Medium aquariums have at least 113 Litres (30 US Gallons). Large aquariums have at least 265 Litres (70 US Gallons). Capacity of very large aquariums is at least 700 Litres (185 US Gallons).
It is not very difficult to keep the Flame Angel fish. (
e) The specific gravity (SG) should be between 1,020 and 1,025, the temperature between 23°C (73.4°F) and 26°C (78.8°F). The suggested level of pH (a measure of the acidity/basicity) is between 8.0 and 8.3 which is usual for most marine fish.
They should not be kept with other same sized, coloured, or alike coloured fish. Of course they should not be kept with fish, which they can eat this Angel as well. They should be raised in well established tank with live rocks and if I can give you a small suggestion: keep your aquarium closed, this fish may jump out of the aquarium.
Some say, that it can pick on clam mantles, soft or hard corals, polyps and some say, that their Flames Angels did not touch them. They should be feed on frozen/live brine, flake food and pellet food and they should have algae in the tank, or you should try to give them some vegetable based food.
These fish were breed in captivity and there is a difference between fishes caught in the sea and fishes bred in tanks. Caught fish have more blue on their fins as the fish from the tanks.
