Character and suggestions regarding care

The Queen Coris specie belongs to aggressive fish.

Queen Coris can grow up to 60 cm what is approximately 23 inches. In general, 1 specimen requires at least 7200cm2 of water surface which is approximately 1116 square inch. This species will require to be kept in a tank that is very large. (e) Medium aquariums have at least 113 Litres (30 US Gallons). Large aquariums have at least 265 Litres (70 US Gallons). Capacity of very large aquariums is at least 700 Litres (185 US Gallons).

It is difficult to keep the Queen Coris fish. (e) The specific gravity (SG) should be between 1,020 and 1,025, the temperature between 23°C (73.4°F) and 26°C (78.8°F). The suggested level of pH (a measure of the acidity/basicity) is between 8.0 and 8.3 which is usual for most marine fish.

This fish is usually kept as a juvenile in home aquariums. Queen Coris need a high sand bottom, because they bury into it and search for food in it too, so you also can’t expect, that the stones in your tank stay at the same place, as when you put them into it. You also can’t place one stone on the another, because the fish could destabilise them and the stones could fall on the fish and harm it. Wrasses use to jump out of the fish tank, so you should have some aquarium cover too. They eat crabs, shrimps, worms and small invertebrates, but also flake foods.
